The Human Obsession With Money And Robots.
Why people can't stop talking about millionaires and AI.
Welcome to the first edition of this newsletter.
If you’re reading this, we’ve probably interacted on Twitter in the past or you’ve received a copy of my Accounting Basics e-book.
I’m glad you’re here. Again, thank you.
Why are you here?
We live in a world obsessed with making money. If you go back in history, you’ll observe that we’ve become more sophisticated with time. We’ve gone from barter to coins. From fiat to digital money.
What’s next? That’s the trillion dollar question.
More recently, we’ve started to become obsessed with technology. Particularly, intelligent beings that might help us become more productive in the future. Or, in a more dystopian future, they might erase us from the face of the earth.
What’s going to happen? That’s the quadrillion dollar question.
When you combine these two topics, you get an interesting intersection of things, ideas, and people.
Venture capital funds. Billionaires. Ethics. Banking. Research. Fraud. Cryptocurrencies. Inflation. Policy. And many more.
This newsletter’s manifesto is to explore these intersections. The past, the present, and the future of our relationship with money and robots. In an attempt to answer, as best as we possibly can, the many questions that arise from our interactions with these two ubiquitous concepts.
I will give you my perspective as someone who has studied and worked in finance in the technology industry (Google, Microsoft, GE) for the last 15 years. And to keep things balanced, I will try to bring other people’s perspective from my network as well.
I want us to get more educated on what’s coming and how it will impact our lives, so we can make adjustments as we go.
That’s why you’re here. And I really hope you stay.
Thanks for embarking in this journey with me.
See you in the next post.
Until then,
— Antonio
